ALL TERRAIN CAPABILITY
AT IT'S VERY BEST
Hägglunds BV206 All-Terrain Vehicle
The Hägglunds BV206 is a highly capable articulated tracked vehicle designed to operate in environments where conventional wheeled vehicles struggle to travel. Originally developed in Sweden by Hägglunds, the BV206 uses a unique twin-body design joined by a flexible steering joint that allows both units to follow the ground independently. This design enables the vehicle to maintain traction across extremely soft terrain such as deep snow, sand, peat bogs and marshland.
Power is delivered through a front-mounted engine that drives four wide rubber tracks. Because the vehicle spreads its weight over a very large surface area, the BV206 produces exceptionally low ground pressure. This allows it to travel across fragile terrain including tundra, swamp and deep powder snow without becoming stuck. The articulated chassis also allows the vehicle to climb steep slopes and cross obstacles while maintaining excellent stability and traction.
The vehicle consists of two separate units. The front power module contains the engine, driver controls and passenger seating, while the rear carrier unit can be configured for personnel transport, cargo, specialist equipment or medical evacuation. Depending on configuration, the BV206 can carry up to seventeen personnel including the driver, making it an extremely versatile transport platform.
Another key capability of the BV206 is its fully amphibious design. With minimal preparation the vehicle can enter water and propel itself using its tracks, allowing it to cross rivers, flooded terrain and coastal waterways. This combination of mobility and versatility has made the BV206 one of the most widely used tracked all-terrain vehicles in the world.
Today the BV206 continues to be valued by military organisations, rescue teams and commercial operators. Its reliability, simple mechanical design and exceptional off-road performance make it ideal for remote access work and operations in harsh climates. For organisations needing dependable mobility across challenging terrain, the BV206 remains one of the most proven solutions available.
